Carta Della Nuova Inghilterra, Nuova Yorc, e Pensilvania
Description
Fine, copper-engraved map of New England and New York, based on the map by Jacques Nicholas Bellin published in 1757. This version was published in Il Gazzettiere Americano, in Livorno, in 1763.
A clear, legible map with lots of interesting topographical information, stretching from southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania to Maine, and as far west as Lake Ontario. Shows states, towns, roads, coastal features including Cape Cod and Long Island, mountains, rivers, location of Indian tribes, and much more. A fascinating, scarce map. Excellent, crisp impression. Bottom right margin trimmed a little closer than rest of margin, but plenty of room for matting. Very good condition. Reference: McCorkle, New England in Early Printed Maps, 1513 to 1800, number 763.2.
